Silk care
Silk is more robust than its reputation suggests – with a few simple rules it stays beautiful for years.
Washing
- Hand wash in lukewarm water (max. 30 °C) or on a delicate cycle for silk/wool.
- Mild silk detergent – no bleach, no fabric softener, no enzyme detergents.
- Wash in a laundry bag and with similar colours. Close the zipper.
- Don't soak, don't wring.
Drying
- No tumble dryer.
- Dry flat or hanging in the shade – direct sun bleaches silk.
Ironing
- If needed: on the lowest setting (silk), inside out, slightly damp.
- A steam iron held at a distance also works well.
Storage
- Dry and dark, ideally in the silk pouch.
- Don't seal in plastic – silk wants to breathe.
Tip: two pillowcases in rotation extend the life of both – and you always have a fresh one.
